Committee votes to declare member position vacant, recommend successor.

Enhancing Shirley Committee · Meeting of March 19, 2026

SHIRLEY — The Enhancing Shirley Committee voted unanimously to recommend declaring the seat held by Michelle Oelfke vacant due to extended non-attendance and failure to respond to outreach since December 2025, and endorsed John Cardillo Sr. for appointment to fill the vacancy. Four of five members present at the Thursday meeting also approved a redesigned Welcome Wagon packet front cover and confirmed plans for March 26 removal of holiday lights from Whiteley Park with assistance from Fire Chief Cooley and DPW. A Charitable Foundation grant of $1,000 will fund park benches and flowerpots for a June summer event at Benjamin Park, while Tractor Supply is sourcing 30 whiskey barrels to extend Veterans Row floral displays in mid-to-late April.
