Conservation Commission approves sewage system replacement at 170 Groton Road

SHIRLEY — The Shirley Conservation Commission unanimously approved an Order of Conditions for a sewage disposal system replacement at 170 Groton Road, which sits within 100 feet of a bordering vegetated wetland and the 200-foot riverfront area. Chair Jennifer McGuinness opened and closed the public hearing at 6:34 p.m. The Commission continued public hearings on two other projects, a single-family home at 0 Leominster Road to February 24, 2026, and an ADA walking path at 0 Fredonian Street to February 10, 2026, both pending applicant revisions.
The Commission unanimously approved the FY2027 Annual Budget and voted to fund conference registration for Chair McGuinness and member Michelle O'Connor at the 2026 MACC Annual Environmental Conference on February 28, 2026. In a 4-0 vote with one abstention, the Commission approved submission of a letter of support to the Zoning Board of Appeals regarding a MassWildlife proposal.
