Council on Aging · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Shirley Council on Aging unanimously approved January minutes and voted to move forward with program and facility upgrades. Chair Laurie Witherell and Director Amy Leonard will attend the March 7 Budget hearing; instructor Judith Viviano will teach Mahjong in May at either Monday 1–3 p.m. or Thursday 9–11 a.m. slots. The board agreed to accept donated chairs from Shirley Meadows and discussed purchasing 40 additional chairs for approximately $6,000 and replacing a 30-year-old refrigerator estimated at $6,250.

Leonard will explore microphone system purchases to improve acoustics and contact the Shirley Library about hosting a book club at the senior center.
