Shirley's Enhancing Shirley Committee unanimously approved the Welcome Wagon packet design and content breakdown. The packet, in design and information-gathering stages, will include town services, school information, committee and board contacts with vacancy listings, local businesses, veteran activities, recreational offerings, and a town map with cover photos sourced from Bryan Sawyer. Chair Candace King and Vice Chair Kayla Rose are scheduled to upgrade holiday decorations at Whiteley Park on Wednesday, February 11, replacing red bows with white ones on veteran trees and adding matching path lights.
Committee member Adeline Rodriguez's proposal to place outdoor games in Benjamin Park for family use drew support; further discussion with the Benjamin Park Committee is planned.
