SHIRLEY — The Enhancing Shirley Committee approved prior minutes and welcomed John Cardillo Sr. as a new member at its April 13 meeting. All five committee members attended. The committee completed seasonal work at Whiteley Park and Veterans Row, including removal of Christmas lights and tree maintenance, and has scheduled first-week-of-May plantings of red, white, and blue petunias for Veterans Row whiskey barrels.
The Shirley Charitable Foundation is contributing $1,000 toward park summer plans including benches and flowerpots. The committee plans a June summer event at Benjamin Park and is awaiting delivery of 30 whiskey barrels from Tractor Supply to extend Veterans Row.
