Shirley Finance Committee approves prior minutes and reviews year-to-date expenses. Chair Anthony Lively's committee learned that the town's tax rate dropped to 12.39 from 12.97, but the town faces a $271,000 revenue loss after MCI budget money was accidentally deleted at the State Legislature Conference Committee, which Town Administrator Brian Sawyer is working to resolve. The town will receive $341,261 from a $5 million Department of Public Health grant for emergency services, distributed over two years, as part of relief to thirteen communities affected by Nashoba Hospital's closing.
Budget meetings for fiscal year 2027 will run from February 1 to March 15, with most departments scheduled for Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
