Shirley Recreation Commission approved bills and prior minutes unanimously Monday night. Linda Cournoyer presided over updates spanning eight youth and adult programs: Shirley Youth Soccer reported 38 registrants with uniforms in stock; Ayer Shirley Youth Soccer enrolled 245 players, three families placed on payment plans, and will host a guest coach from Challenger. Both youth basketball programs conclude seasons this Saturday, with Ayer Shirley considering an end-of-season bonfire or movie night pending Fire Department approval.
The Penguins Swim Team requested an additional coach ahead of next week's practice start. Commission members tasked staff to confirm gym availability for Adult Pickup Basketball and coordinate with the Shirley Rod & Gun Club for season-end events.
