SHIRLEY — Recreation Commission approves spring referee mentorship program at $900. Jay Duffner, the Commission's CPC representative, will lead training for 16 referees, deploying them across games at $25 per assignment through mid-June. Summer in Shirley camp shifts to June 23 start date following the June 22 end of school year; director Steve Stern is refunding campers for June 22.
The Wilde Road fields project faces renewed uncertainty after the State reversed its stance on private property exchange options, prompting Duffner to seek Senator Cronin's intervention through Bryan Sawyer.
