Recreation Commission approves spring youth soccer coordination, reviews program updates

SHIRLEY — Recreation Commission names co-chairs for youth soccer. Matt Thomas and Jonathan Deforge will jointly lead the Shirley Youth Soccer program in spring, splitting coordination duties that typically center on coach recruitment, player registration, and scheduling. Penguins Swim Team registration opened January 1 with 28 signups recorded; the commission awaits program coordinator Rebecca Myers' communication.
Adult Pickup Basketball, which began December 23 with 10 participants, has drawn 3 additional registrations; the commission extended waiver registration through the school year.
