Recreation Commission · Meeting of June 1, 2026

Shirley Recreation Commission unanimously approved a one-year AdminSports contract covering registrations and payments through May 4, 2027. The four-member commission, including Linda Cournoyer, Jonathan Deforge, Keith Begun, and Matt Thomas, also confronted a budget challenge when Ayer-Shirley Regional School District notified the town that afternoon janitorial services would no longer be covered by the district. Summer in Shirley Director Steve Stern reported the program has contributed approximately 3,200 dollars in goods and services to the district this year.

Commissioner Jonathan Deforge estimated custodial services would cost about 5,000 dollars. Keith Begun said he would request a meeting with the superintendent to negotiate the matter and present documentation of contributions.
