Select Board approves police hires and grants in routine session.

Shirley Select Board votes unanimously on four police appointments and grant funding. Chair Brian Hildebrant, Vice Chair Andree Jean Jacques, and Clerk Debra Flagg approved Nicholas McLaughlin as a full-time police officer and appointed Toni Bragdon, Katie Hawthorne, and Jodee Coke as police matrons, all on 3-0 votes. The board also unanimously backed a DLTA grant submission and letter of support for regional transportation, adopted a Metal Detection Policy restricting detecting at town historical sites, and approved temporary liquor licenses for two events.

Six seniors were appointed to the work-off program, and seven treasury warrants totaling $1,610,702.13 were approved across unanimous votes. Town Administrator reported FY2027 budget work is on track and union negotiations with DPW, Fire, and Clerical units are under way.
