Recreation Commission · Meeting of July 13, 2026

Shirley Recreation Commission unanimously approved three concurrent approaches for Wilde Road athletic fields: pursuing a $100,000 Select Board irrigation earmark, seeking mitigation-land funding with town-covered survey costs, and advancing revised legislation to address state-flagged terminology concerns. Commission member Jonathan Deforge is meeting with families to discuss the options. Summer in Shirley ran smoothly aside from a weather-related Six Flags cancellation, Penguins Swim Team added a mid-season participant, and Shirley Youth Soccer registration remains open through August 19.
