SHIRLEY — The Shirley Transportation Action Committee advanced a $306,000 One Stop for Growth Communities Catalyst Grant for design and engineering of the Shirley Village area, with RFP issuance set for February 12 and responses due March 23. Vice Chair Robert Adam reported progress on thickly settled roads designation, identifying five eligible areas on Ayer Road, Harvard Road, Benjamin Road, Lawton Road, and Walker Road for a Select Board presentation. The 18,000-linear-foot project covers 19 intersections and includes sidewalks, crosswalks, signage, traffic signals, and safety improvements.
The steering committee includes DPW Director Dave Schwartz, Janet Tice, John Wilson, Town Planner Mark Archambault, and Town Administrator Bryan Sawyer.
