Transportation Action Committee · Meeting of August 17, 2026

Shirley Transportation Action Committee reviewed ongoing grant projects on August 17. The committee received updates on the Shirley Village Roadway Improvement Project, which posted a public survey garnering over 80 responses by meeting time, with responses continuing through October 1. The survey covered intersection conditions, pavement quality, sidewalks, pedestrians, and bicycles.

Data collection for the North Shirley Business District study was completed using road-mounted traffic tubes and temporary cameras. Consultant George Snow presented parking configuration options for Uuli Run. The committee also discussed Massachusetts' state-required process for changing speed limits and noted that prior Select Board approval was granted March 9.

The Police Department does not support speed camera implementation under proposed state legislation.
