Shirley Transportation Action Committee discussed grant projects and identified a 2029 state funding gap for Route 225. The committee reviewed three ongoing initiatives: the Shirley Village Roadway Improvement, Shared Streets and Spaces, and UPWP 2A/North Shirley Business District projects. DPW Director Dave Schwartz reported that state funding will not be available until 2029, requiring interim Chapter 90 funds for road repairs.
The committee addressed ongoing Clark Road safety incidents and confusing School Street one-way signage, which operates one-way during school hours and two-way otherwise. The committee also launched a recruitment effort to expand membership from seven to nine.
